3DS MAX

3ds Max 3D modeling, animation, and rendering software. Produce professional-quality 3D animations, renders, and models with 3ds Max® software. An efficient toolset helps you create better 3D and virtual reality (VR) content in less time.

During Modeling and Animation activities, 3ds Max will not take advantage of many CPU cores. The best performance for such tasks is achieved with the fastest top core speed. The Intel® i7 and i9 are favored to the XEON® CPU delivering the best performance/price ratio for such tasks. The foreground renderer included with 3ds Max since 2018 is Arnold. Arnold renderer is designed to take advantage of as many CPU cores as possible with hyper thread capabilities, where the i9 X-series and even dual Xeon CPU are recommended. At the lower end of the budget the i9-13900KF represents the optimal value with 8 Performance-cores + 16 Efficient-cores and 32 Threads with a high clock turbo boost spread. @Xi also provides professionally overclock versions, favoring an absolute top core or all cores at higher frequency to deliver optimal balanced Design and Rendering 3ds Max performance. For the higher budgets we suggest the Scalable dual Xeon with a total of 24 Cores, 48 threads. Autodesk certification is mainly for NVIDIA® Quadro® video cards for 3ds Max, however GeForce video cards provide a better performance/price ratio due to the DirectX 11 optimized architecture. @Xi is supporting both NVIDIA RTX™ (previously Quadro) Professional Graphics and GeForce RTX™ video cards use with 3ds Max. 3ds Max also can take advantage of GPU rendering add-on like Redshift and Octane. In the GeForce section we show the top configurations optimized for multiple GPUs rendering both X-Series and Xeon based. SSD drives are a must and faster NVMe M.2 recommended when dealing with big drawings. For budgets and requirements beyond the Platinum configurations our technology consultants will be happy to provide customized optimal quotes.
